What makes Hydrolix different

Hydrolix is purpose-built for streaming data lakes that ingest and query high-volume, high-cardinality logs in real time. Unlike general-purpose cloud data warehouses, Hydrolix optimizes specifically for the storage and query patterns of observability and security log data, where traditional row-oriented databases struggle with cardinality and cost.

The platform separates storage and compute, allowing you to scale ingestion independently from query resources. It uses columnar compression and intelligent data organization to reduce storage costs dramatically compared to Elasticsearch or Splunk for equivalent data volumes. Hydrolix handles structured and semi-structured log data, supporting schema-on-read patterns that are essential when dealing with diverse log formats from different sources.

Pricing model

Hydrolix uses consumption-based pricing centered on data ingestion volume and query processing. Pricing is transparent but varies by tier and deployment model (cloud-hosted vs. self-hosted). The platform charges separately for ingest throughput (measured in GB/hour or similar metrics) and query compute, allowing you to optimize costs by controlling how much data you retain and how frequently you query it.

When it fits
