Block storage costs approximately $0.10/GB/month; object storage runs $5/month for 250 GB with egress charges. This model contrasts sharply with hyperscaler complexity: no Reserved Instance tax, no regional pricing arbitrage penalties, and hourly granularity (not monthly minimums) reduces cost friction for development and testing workloads.
